11 weeks agoGreat New Years celebrations at the Arizona house, miss the Grandkids. So time to head to the California home for a month. We alternate between them.

11 weeks agoSB - my good biker friend lives in Gilbert now. Had to leave San Jose because of the Liberal Nuts. He does have one son in PaloAlto still and a daughter in Gilbert. He spends much time traveling to Palo Alto for the grand kids. His daughter has 2 that he sees all the time. I don`t know if he is still taking that desert riding or not. Be careful of that California place.
10 weeks agoI`m thinking about leaving Montana and heading for AZ as well. I can visit and do some home repairs. Maybe look for another house! LOL
10 weeks agoWith your weather these days - now might be a good time to hit the road.
10 weeks agoMcG, I`m signing up for a gunsmithing class at the local college in Prescott so I should be there close to two years. Undecided whether I will buy another house or just rent this time.
10 weeks agoDave - I don`t believe for one minute that you can afford to go to a gun-smithing class. I guess with your son gone you will have a room that will hold all the guns. You might have to take a wood working class to learn how to build the gun racks. You`ll have to learn how to sell one also. You will be pretty proud of your handiwork. What about all the metal working tools. I would bet you can figure out how to buy them in big eastern cities where old me retire and get rid of that stuff.
HaHaHaHa - I`m gonna live long enough to watch you build and sell some guns.
10 weeks agoMcG, yeah, with both boys gone I can have a gun room in the house! I`m not sure what you mean about not being to afford to take the class. Maybe I missed it.
You`ll have to take a trip out this way. As far as fixing and selling I guess we`ll see how the whole thing goes. I have a big tool collection but don`t have a lathe or milling machine. I don`t know how deep I will get into the machining. I will probably get an FFL. I will continue to do AR-15 type builds as I have done for the last 2-3 years. The mark-up on complete rifles is so high it`s hard NOT to make money.
9 weeks agoI meant AFFORD as in building lots of really neat pieces and then not having the heart to sell them. Your own private collection will become quite something. I do have to believe you live in a part of the USA that as you become a well known gunsmith you can make a nice piece of change doing something you enjoy.
9 weeks agoWell of course I want them all for myself! LOL That`s why I have 6 motorcycles. I`m sure that I would want to keep all the firearms. I have 10 AR platform as a start. Not sure how many other long guns. Honestly haven`t looked for a few years!
This is 1 of 2 AR pistols I did.
9 weeks agoThat will put a few holes in the intruder pretty quick. Space age looking. Is this something like our troops get now ???????
9 weeks agoThanks, McG. That was a pistol (loosely! Haha) version of the AR-15. It has a light/laser and a red dot sight.
Today they are using M-4s or M-16a3s (if I remember correctly).
This is basically what the guys are packing today:
