You are correct with most of what you said. I understand and will be actively watching the bike prices throughout the summer months. I`m not expecting the values to jump a whole lot, but I have a solid no crash 2014 Street Glide Special and it right now has over a thousand in extra stuff.
This would be the custom seat (tour model) and rider backrest/detachable sissy bar.
Detachable luggage rack, fairing pouches saddlebag liners, and the docking hardware kit.
The damn seat alone cost me over $600, maybe seven. It is a DANNY GREY WITH A BUILT IN "AIR HAWK" INSERT. Google it if you want, but it is indeed expensive.
To get the price I will come up with will include that seat plus one of my extra T-BAG luggage pieces.
Along with all that, would be my rear accessory bags that hang just in front of the saddle bags. I kept those from one of my prior Harleys (Road King).....they are handy to keep extra tools and or other stuff in. I had to purchase the rear chrome guards that go in front of the normal saddlebags to have the source to hold those leather bags.
As to your comments on my Harley luggage stuff............Guess what, except for the one set of T-Bags that I used on a few extended trips, all the other has (no milage)..............the translation being.............That stuff is GOOD AS NEW.
I understand that I`m not gonna get the same price that I forked out to get that stuff, but whomever wants it will have to pay me what I believe is a reasonable price. Just because some of it has sat on a shelf in my garage for years with no (deterioration), I should let it go for 50 % or less.
Bottom line is you should recognize that it is time for me to finally sell as my current milage is less than 5200 miles.
I have retained the "stock" seat and if need be will replace it with the high dollar seat if I get into a snag with the total sale.
I am sure I can pedal the Air Hawk (Danny Grey) seat which fits a laundry list of Harley Tour models for several hundred dollars if need be.
