This has happened to me several times and maybe you have had the aggrevation too.
You have your saddlebags full of your stuff, and you just want to remove the whole bag from the bike so you can clean the rear wheel or get a better angle on checking or adding air to the rear tire..........and when you go to remove the quicky fastener that holds the bag on, the washer falls down to the bottom of the bag or if you have a bag liner, it can fall in behind the liner also. In either case, you gotta pull most of your "stuff" out of the bag to retrieve the washer or remove the bag liner if it fell in behind it.
Here is a neat solution....
If you don`t already have a box of O-rings, go to Lowes or Home Depot and get a package of #5 O-rings. They are 3/8"O.D. X 1/4" I.D. X 1/16".
Put the washer on the fastener and then slide one of these O-rings on it and snug it up to the base to hold the washer in place. Now, next time you wanna pull off the bags, the washer comes right out with the fastener.
The package I got was Qty. 10 for $1.97. Ace Hardware wanted 59 cents apiece for them.
